Deloitte is the brand under which tens of thousands of dedicated professionals in independent firms throughout the world collaborate to provide audit, consulting, financial advisory, risk management, and tax services to selected clients. These firms are members of Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu (DTT), a Swiss Verein. Each member firm provides services in a particular geographic area and is subject to the laws and professional regulations of the particular country or countries in which it operates. DTT helps coordinate the activities of the member firms but does not itself provide services to clients. DTT and the member firms are separate and distinct legal entities, which cannot obligate the other entities. DTT and each DTT member firm are only liable for their own acts or omissions, and not those of each other. Each of the member firms operates under the names “Deloitte,” “Deloitte & Touche,” “Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu,” or other related names. Each DTT member firm is structured differently in accordance with national laws, regulations, customary practice, and other factors, and may secure the provision of professional services in their territories through subsidiaries, affiliates and/or other entities. Technology Park Ljubljana (TP Lj) represents an environment which facilitates an accelerated tackling of the issues of motivation, climate and flourishing of technological entrepreneurship. At the same time it is an interface in which researchers can directly sense the pulse of industry and the market. TP Lj promotes the creation, operation and growth of technological companies. It ensures an adequate infrastructure and offers assistance in the areas of the market, finance and technology.
Lithuanian Biotechnology Association (LBTA) was founded in 2003, 14 October. Association members are physical persons and legal entities.The purpose of LBTA is to represent Lithuanian biotech companies and research institutions, to organize actions that stimulate progress of the biotechnological sector. LBTA prepared the Program on the Development of Industrial Biotechnology in Lithuania for 2007 - 2010, that was approved by the Government (2006), founded the Lithuanian Biotechnology Platform (2007). The National Integrated Program of Biotechnology and Biopharmacy was prepared together with the Institute of Biotechnology and Lithuanian Association of Pharmaceutical Industrial Enterprises (2008).
Hungarian Biotechnology Association - As a pioneer among the EU accession countries, the Hungarian Biotechnology Association (HBA) was established by Hungary is leading life science companies in 2003. The main objective of the organization is to create an alliance that unites the voice and interests of companies, researchers, academic institutions and related organizations to provide them with shared services, advocacy, and to help them find success and opportunities in the field of life sciences.
Wrocław Research Center EIT+ Ltd (WRC EIT+) - was established on November 15th, 2007 with an objective to commercialize research and development efforts, and to built the Knowledge Based Economy in Lower Silesia. The shareholders of the Company include Municipality of Wrocław, Lower Silesia Region and the following academic institutions: University of Wrocław, Wrocław University of Technology, Wrocław University of Environmental and Life Sciences, and Wrocław Medical University.
Tartu Biotechnology Park (TBP) provides physical infrastructure as well as business development and consultancy services to companies and R&D institutions in the fields of biotechnology, medicine and veterinary medicine. It supports companies in finding cooperation partners and is active in the establishment process of new companies. The activity of TBP stands on five pillars - quality, cooperation, competence, information and innovation. The aim of TBP is to create a favorable and developing environment for the promotion of biotechnological entrepreneurship in Estonia.
Life Science Cluster Krakow - The idea to form and sustain a commercially viable cluster dedicated to 'life science' has been developed on the basis and recognition of the already existing potential of both the Polish life science industry and its research & development sector. In October 2006 the Life Science Cluster in Krakow was established as a collaborative project of 32 (50 presently) institutions. Krakow Lifescience Network Partners include: Companies (the life science sector), Universities / Higher education,Research & Development Organisations, Healthcare, Business support organisations, Local government.
ScanBalt BioRegion is a meta-region in life sciences and relevant social sciences that encompasses Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Iceland, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway, Poland, Sweden, northern part of Germany and north-western part of Russia (Top of Europe). ScanBalt BioRegion includes regional networks of universities, industries, hospitals, public institutions and other important actors. These are triple helix networks due to the coordinated involvement of public institutions, public authorities and private companies. The Steinbeis network, Germany, is an international service provider in professional technology and knowledge transfer. Steinbeis enables access to current research results and rapid implementation in competitive products, as well as the analysis of companies and markets. It is organized as a profit oriented private company financed through a network fee.
The Public Institution Lithuanian Innovation Centre is a non-profit organisation, providing innovation support services to enterprises, research institutions, industry associations and business support organisations. Latvian Biotechnology Association (LBA) was created as Latvian biotech network in 2006. The main task of LBA is to promote the cooperation between biotech research institutions, SME and large enterprises, as well promote the participation in joint projects and help to organize the international cooperation. LBA is the member of European Biotechnology Federation. Several of the initiators behind the Latvian Association of Biotechnology are already involved in the Scan Balt network.
CzechBio, the Czech association of biotechnological companies, research institutions, and universities was established in December 2008. Its roots lie in the past decisions of 20 companies of the biotechnological industry to take advantage of the cooperation among biotechnological industry, scientific organization, and universities. The demand on new solution in applied R&D in the biosciences, in medicine, pharmacy, environmental technology, and product-oriented biotechnology are the main goals why CzechBio has been established.
Pharmaceutical Production Company HASCO-LEK S.A. Hasco-Lek is a dynamically growing and expanding firm which has operated on the Polish pharmaceutical market for twenty six years. On the turn of the 21st century we opened one of the most modern soft gelatin capsule production departments in Central Europe. Shortly after that Hasco-Lek was granted a GMP certification.
