The City of Lodz Office supports innovative R & D biotechnological projects.

The City of Lodz Office founded the scholarships for scientists from Lodz who work on innovative R & D projects which potentially might be introduced in the biotechnological industry. Scholarships are thought to cover the costs of exhibition of these projects during the Bio-Forum Fair Trade. The presentation of innovative "bio"-projects during Bio-Forum let them to be shown to the industry and to the market. It is also the possibility for scientists to establish the connections with business what can stimulate the progress in commercialization of results of R & D projects.

Moreover, the services which can be performed in polish laboratories will be presented to industry.

Bio-Forum Fair Trade is the excellent possibility to start the relationship between science and business.

Promotion of Biotechnology and Biobusiness trade fair event in Ukraine.

The main aim of Bio-Forum IV - Biotechnology and Biobusiness Trade Fair (Poland, Lodz, 19-20 Oc-tober 2006) is stimulation of transfer of innovative (bio)technologies coming from scientific labs to the field of biotechnological industry (cosmetology, pharmacology etc.).

We are aiming in encouraging not only Polish, but also international representatives of biotechnologi-cal industry (especially, from Middle and Eastern Europe) to participate in Bio-Forum VI. Currently, the promotion of Bio-Forum starts in Ukraine, where the biotechnology students are actively involved in spreading the info about Bio-Forum.

Nowadays, Ukrainian cosmetic and pharmaceutical industry comes into the stage of intensive struc-tural changes and modernization of production as they want to meet the expectation and requirements of European Union. That is why, innovative technologies, which can be found during Bio-Forum Trade Fair are interesting for these countries. Moreover, trade fair in Poland are more affordable for our Eastern neighbours than similar events in Western Europe. Additionally, city of Lodz is connected for example with Lvov by direct bus.

Not only Ukrainian biotech-companies, but also some bio-representatives from Lithuania are inter-ested in participating in Bio-Forum VI. Everyone is courteously invited.
